
When the Ford Maverick debuted last year, the market raved about its $20,000 price tag. With a respectable amount of equipment and commendable build quality, buyers have knocked each other down trying to get their hands on one.
Although Ford is still working to fill its huge order book, changes are already underway in the second year of production. For the 2023 model year Ford Maverick, buyers will see a new appearance package.
Ford Maverick Black Appearance Package
The all-new Black Appearance Package is available on the mid-range XLT and higher-end Lariat trim levels. To start, exclusive 18-inch five-spoke machined-face Ebony aluminum wheels are included in the package. Continuing the exterior upgrades are a black front grille, door handles, mirrors, front and rear logos, and tinted headlamps and taillamps.
Interior alterations for Ford Mavericks with Black Appearance Package include “Black Onyx/Medium Dark” seats, swapped from the standard “Navy Pier/Medium Slate” color. The seats are not upgraded in material and remain basic cloth. However, the package also dots the cabin with several blacked-out interior details.
Can you get the black appearance package on any For Maverick?
Unfortunately, the Black Appearance package is not available on the base XL trim. Also, it is not available with the FX4 Off-Road Package, Tremor Off-Road Package, or Tremor Off-Road Appearance Package.
Although it’s a marginal issue, if the Black Appearance package is selected, the tires are a bit slimmer than the regular 17-inch wheels. The Black Appearance package includes 225/60 tires, while the 17-inch wheels come with 225/65 tires.
How much does the Black Appearance package cost?
The package sells for $1,645. That may seem like a lot of money for parts that can be purchased at a local auto parts dealer. However, it looks stylish, especially in gray “Area 51”.
Adding the package will bring the price of the Ford Maverick XLT trimmed to $28,240. For him Ford Maverick Lariat with Black Appearance Package, pricing starts at $31,740. Prices depend on the base 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid with front-wheel drive.
