Somehow they managed to make the Kia Telluride an even better family SUV. The Telluride has been topping the charts as the best option for years, but that doesn’t mean it’s done competing. The 2023 Kia Telluride just got crucial updates to steal even more drivers from its rivals.
Kia Telluride 2023: What’s new?
The 2023 Kia Telluride can go even further than before, thanks to the addition of the X-Pro Package. For years, Telluride has delivered a great ride on pavement, but now it can keep up with the competition in the wild.
Opting for the Kia Telluride X-Pro adds 18-inch black wheels wrapped in Continental all-terrain tires, standard all-wheel drive, 0.4-inch suspension lift, single suspension tuning, enhanced traction control settings, and a tow mode that conveniently adjust powertrain settings.
Driving a 2022 model off-road, ground clearance was a concern, but now the 2023 Telluride sits 8.4 inches off the ground. It has also improved approach and departure angles.
Also, it has an improved fan to improve cooling while towing. As a result, the X-Pro can tow up to 5,500 lbs. This is a substantial increase as most people we’ve talked to wish the Telluride could tow more.
Best of all, the suspension tuning provides a better ride quality. The 2022 Telluride has noticeable body roll curves, but the 2023 model has more control in tight corners.
Does the 2023 Telluride have better technology?

The 2023 Kia Telluride received some notable upgrades, though it already felt advanced and modern. The 10.3-inch center display has been replaced with dual 12.3-inch screens that serve as a digital gauge cluster and infotainment display.
According to car and driver, this setup has a luxurious feel and is reminiscent of technology found in the Cadillac Escalade, BMW iX, and Mercedes-Benz GLS class. Plus, integrated navigation and a Wi-Fi hotspot are now standard across the lineup.
Highway Drive 2 is standard on SX trims and up. Provides more intelligent feedback while in adaptive cruise control based on how you drive. Improved reactions to being cut off or when a vehicle encroaches on your lane.
It also has improved forward collision avoidance, evasive steering assistance, and semi-automatic lane change assistance. We can’t wait to test how well the new Telluride can change lanes on its own!
How much does the Telluride 2023 cost?
Pricing for the 2023 Kia Telluride starts at $35,690. Moving up to the top-spec SX-P X-Pro model brings the price up to $52,785. Plus, the destination fee adds another $1,335 across the board. The 2022 Telluride starts at $33,390, so the $2,300 increase is worth noting.
Plus, adding AWD costs $2,000 unless you select a model that includes it. But price increases probably won’t slow down the Telluride. Production is increasing to 120,000 units a year, which means more people can get behind the wheel.
Perhaps more supply will limit demand and prices will fall. However, current supply chain constraints and rising inflation could increase costs.
Either way, Telluride continues to dominate as a value-packed family option that’s now safer, has better handling, has off-road upgrades, better tech and can tow more.
