Good grief, the price of the Chevrolet Silverado EV has massive ups and downs. There are several models available, and the price of some of the top-tier models is a bit more expensive than expected. See how the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV varies.
How much does the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV cost?
Pricing for the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV WT starts at $41,595, including the $1,695 destination fee. This seems pretty good, considering the base model of the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning starts at $51,974 before adding the destination fee.
So the Silverado electric work truck is priced around $10,000 cheaper. However, upgrading to the Chevy Silverado EV 3WT trim increases the price to $74,800 with the $1,895 destination fee. Additionally, the EV 4WT trim level is $79,800, including destination fee.
These top-tier models get expensive quickly. Also, we are a little concerned about the cost of lithium and other minerals. As supplies tighten due to supply chain issues, base model coil prices rise.
We’ve already seen the Ford F-150 Lightning add nearly $8,000 to the entry-level price. But according to GM AuthorityChevrolet plans to release more versions at the work truck level to provide affordable options to fleet buyers.
Which version of the Silverado EV will be better?
The official versions of the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV have yet to be released, but we do have a few clues as to what to expect.
Silverado WT or Work Truck trim is the base model. It is expected to produce 510 hp with standard all-wheel drive. With the larger battery pack, you could have up to 400 miles of range on a single charge.
Rumors suggest the WT model can tow up to 8,000 lbs. Plus, with a DC fast charger, it’s possible to get 100 miles of range in less than 10 minutes. We can’t wait to put the huge battery pack to the test.
The Silverado EV RST is an uplevel option that comes with adaptive air suspension, 24-inch wheels, and at least 664 hp. This model should be able to tow up to 10,000 lbs.
The luxury-oriented RST has a fixed glass roof, two-tone black and white leather upholstery with red accent stitching, and a massive storage compartment.
With the 3WT and 4WT trims, you can get dual-zone automatic climate control, an 8-inch digital gauge cluster, and an 11-inch infotainment center with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Taller models get an 11-inch gauge display and a 17-inch infotainment screen.
When will the 2024 Silverado EV come out?
Production of the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV is expected to begin early in the year. This means it could be just a few more weeks before we know all the different trim levels and prices.
Of course, prices and production dates are subject to change. However, we hope things stay on track so we can see another Ford F-150 Lightning competitor hit the streets. The Rivian R1T is a worthy rival, but it’s not exactly a full-size option.
Additionally, a Silverado WT model that can tow up to 20,000 is expected to appear soon. It will most likely come out a few months after the standard models arrive. Stay tuned for the latest updates.
