There is no doubting the popularity of the Ford Maverick pickup truck. This little truck took the market by storm when it was first introduced, and it seems the Blue Oval just can’t keep up with the demand. If you haven’t placed an order for the 2023 Maverick, you’re probably out of luck. But you might still be interested in Ford’s compact truck. What should you know about the Maverick?
The Ford Maverick is available in three trim levels
Although this is Ford’s small truck, the Maverick shares its versions with other Blue Oval trucks, such as the F-150. Available trim levels include XL, XLT and Lariat. The Ford Maverick XL is by far the most basic version of this truck. It has a starting price of $22,195.
Although the XL is the base model, you can choose to equip it with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine to give it more power. One notable change from the 2022 model is the addition of standard cruise control, which for some reason, Ford made an add-on at the start.
The next step is the Maverick XLT. This model is a bit more expensive, but you do get more standard equipment. This includes keyless entry and cubby storage in the bed of your truck. Additionally, the XLT opens the door to the FX4 Off-Road Package and Tremor Package.
The most expensive version of the Maverick is known as the Lariat. It comes with more convenience features, plus aluminum wheels.
By 2023, the EcoBoost engine is no longer an extra cost
The Ford Maverick stands out because it comes standard with a hybrid engine. If you want the benefit of more power and all-wheel drive, you can outfit this truck with a turbocharged engine.
You’ll still have to pay extra for AWD, but Ford now offers the EcoBoost engine at no extra charge. And that could be the turning point for those who are interested in this little truck.
The 2023 Ford Maverick has an exclusive off-road package
Now, you might think that a unibody truck has no place on the trails. But Ford is trying to prove otherwise. According to car and driverthe 2023 Maverick has an option package known as Tremor.
The Tremor package is only available for the Maverick XLT and Maverick Lariat. You should also equip your small truck with the EcoBoost engine and AWD. The AWD system gets a few tweaks from the Tremor package, and the 2023 Maverick gets a one-inch lift.
One of the coolest tech features is Ford’s Trail Control system. Think of this feature as cruise control but for off-road situations. For a more aggressive looking truck, you can also get the Tremor Appearance Package.
Can you order the 2023 Ford Maverick?
Unfortunately, if you want a new Maverick truck, you’re probably out of luck. Orders for this model were filled so quickly that, according to ford authoritythe blue oval was forced to close them rather quickly.
