The SUV market has expanded significantly in recent decades. These cars are suitable for a wide range of drivers because each generally has better cargo space and seating area than smaller sedans. However, speed is an area where SUVs generally don’t excel.
The average SUV can hit 60 mph in about 7 or 8 seconds, although larger SUVs tend to be slower. There are a few exceptions to the rule, many of which you’ll find in the luxury and electric segments. Let’s take a look at the fastest SUVs you can buy today.
5.2023 Dodge Durango
TrueCar says the most popular Dodge Durango is the one equipped with the 360-hp V8 and RWD. The Durango also offers two other V8s, one of which is supercharged and makes 710 hp. However, this is only available for the SRT model, which typically costs upwards of $80,000.
The R/T Premium trim is $20,000 cheaper and offers added niceties like Nappa leather padding and an exclusive Harmon Kardon audio system.
