It seems that the previous generation of the Toyota Tundra was around forever. Now that we have a new generation of Toyota Tundra, we see an advanced full-size pickup truck that offers more desired features than ever before. Here are six things that put the 2023 Toyota Tundra ahead of the competition.
1. The 2023 Tundra remains one of the safest trucks available
During years, Toyota has been developing the Toyota Safety Sense package of features to keep you safe on the road. This package on the new Toyota Tundra gives you:
- forward collision warning
- automatic emergency braking
- pedestrian detection
- adaptive cruise control
- Lane departure alert with power steering
- lane tracking assist
- high beam assist
Tundra has a more comprehensive safety package than most other full-size trucks.
2. Going off-road is easier in the new Toyota Tundra with Multi-terrain Monitor
Some versions offer this feature as an optional item, while the TRD Pro has it as part of the standard features list. The Multi Terrain Monitor is a surround view camera for offroading. You’ll see difficult terrain and obstacles without the need for an outside observer.
3. Power running boards are found on the 2023 Toyota Tundra Capstone
Power running boards feature a power BedStep with manual and automatic settings to extend and retract the side running boards that come out as soon as you open the door. A BedStep that extends from under the rear bumper to make it easier to get in and out of the truck bed.
4. The i-Force Max powertrain is strong in this full-size truck
The i-Force Max powertrain gives you a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine plus a hybrid electric motor. This power system is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission to make 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque. You can tow up to 11,450 pounds with this new Toyota Tundra and haul up to 1,680 pounds of payload in the bed.
5. The 2023 Tundra has an impressively large 14-inch touchscreen

Toyota gives you the option of a 14-inch touchscreen on the SR5 trim, but offers it as a standard feature on all other trims. This infotainment system uses a 6 or 12 speaker JBL audio system. Connectivity to this huge infotainment screen comes via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
6. The 2023 Toyota Tundra has an easy-close tailgate
Actually, the 2023 Tundra has a tailgate that’s easy to lower and raise. It slowly lowers on its own and you can close it with one finger to secure all the gear in the bed. You won’t have to worry about a heavy tailgate that’s difficult to open or close when driving this full-size pickup.
