On top of that, Hyundai is taking part in the electric revolution, and the South Korean automaker already has a few EV options in its lineup, including some electric SUVs. Here’s an overview of Hyundai’s seven different SUVs that are on the market for the 2023 model year.
The 2023 Hyundai Venue is Hyundai’s cheapest SUV
According to hyundai, the Venue is the South Korean automaker’s smallest and most affordable SUV right now. It’s a subcompact SUV and starts at around $19,000. Hyundai offers one engine in the Venue, and it’s a 1.6-liter four-cylinder that makes 121 hp. This engine allows the subcompact Hyundai to get an estimated 31 mpg combined.
The 2023 Hyundai Kona comes in a variety of configurations
The Kona is in the compact SUV segment and starts at around $22,000. Hyundai offers two additional versions of the Kona. The Kona N is a performance version of the SUV that starts at $35,000 and the Kona Electric is the EV version that starts at $34,000.
The regular Kona starts with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 147 hp, while the Kona N has a 2.0-liter turbo-four that makes 276 hp. The Kona Electric gets an impressive 258-mile estimated range from its electric powertrain.
The 2023 Hyundai Tucson is a bestseller
The Tucson is Hyundai’s best-selling SUV model. It’s a compact SUV that starts at around $26,500. Hyundai offers several powertrain options in the Tucson, including a traditional hybrid and a plug-in hybrid or PHEV option. The Tucson Hybrid starts at $31,000, while the Tucson PHEV starts at $35,000.
The standard Tucson gets an estimated 29 mpg combined, while the Tucson Hybrid gets an estimated 38 mpg combined. Meanwhile, the Tucson PHEV gets 80 MPGe and its battery gives you 33 miles of electric range.
The 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe is a good midsize SUV
The Santa Fe is a midsize SUV that starts at around $28,000. Like the Tucson, Hyundai offers a traditional hybrid and a PHEV version of the Santa Fe. The Santa Fe Hybrid starts at $34,000, while the Santa Fe PHEV is $40,000.
The regular Santa Fe gets an estimated 27 mpg combined, while the Santa Fe Hybrid gets 32 mpg combined. Meanwhile, the Santa Fe PHEV gets 76 MPGe and has 30 miles of electric range.
The 2023 Hyundai Palisade has already won many awards
The Palisade is one of Hyundai’s newest SUVs and is also in the midsize SUV segment. It starts at $35,000, and despite how new it is, it’s already won plenty of awards. The Palisade has few faults overall and is powered by a 3.8-liter V6 that makes 291 hp. This allows the SUV to get an estimated 23 mpg combined and seats up to seven people.
The 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 is a competitive electric SUV
The Ioniq 5 is an all-electric SUV and is in the compact SUV segment. It starts at about $41,500, and overall it’s a great EV that has few issues. The standard range model has an estimated range of 220 miles, but Hyundai offers a long range option that increases your driving range to 303 miles.
The 2023 Hyundai Nexo is a hydrogen car that is only available in one US state.
The last SUV to be sold by Hyundai in 2023 is the Nexo, and it’s an EV that runs on hydrogen instead of batteries. That being said, the Nexo is currently only sold in California. It starts at around $59,000 and you can get over 380 driving range miles.
