Is the 2013 Nissan Rogue Reliable?
In terms of reliability, the 2013 Nissan Rogue might not be the best option. Although safety scores are average, the Nissan Rogue did run into some issues this year. Also, there is only one engine available. And to some, that engine may feel a bit underpowered.
According to JD Power, the reliability is average. But owner reviews tell a different story. There are apparently a lot more issues compared to the 2012 model. Major issues include transmission failure, engine trouble, and even paint chipping.
As a compact SUV, the 2013 Rogue would be best avoided. But if you’re aware of potential problems, you can keep an eye out for warning signs. Generally speaking, you can find a used Rogue anywhere from $8k to $15k depending on configuration and condition.
The 2013 Rogue is available in three versions
At the time of its launch, the 2013 Nissan Rogue came in three different trim levels. These ornaments include:
- S: The Nissan Rogue S is the base version of this SUV. It comes with 16-inch wheels, cloth seats, and keyless entry. Overall, it’s pretty basic, though there are a few options available.
- SV: The Rogue SV is the intermediate SUV. It has larger wheels and fog lights for better visibility. You also get a slightly larger infotainment system, though it’s only 4.3 inches. Which is pretty small compared to today’s vehicles.
- SL: This is the top level Nissan Rogue. It comes with the bells and whistles you’d expect from a vehicle of this era, including a 360-degree camera. You also get automatic climate control, which is a nice feature.
The Rogue tends to drive more like a car than an SUV. And that could be an advantage for some. Although it cannot be described as attractive, it is competent enough for everyday use. Another advantage of this crossover is that it can be had with all-wheel drive. So if you want a used SUV with AWD, this might be the place.
Is the Nissan Rogue a good car?
For the 2023 model year, the Rogue has a lot to like. It now comes with a three-cylinder engine that makes 201 horsepower. The suspension is competent, and there are plenty of standard and available features.
One advantage of the new Rogue is that it starts at an MSRP of less than $30,000. But, if you go for the Platinum model, you’ll be paying almost $40k. It may be better to fix the view on the SV version. It has a good mix of value and features.
