With so many automakers going electric, owning one or two EVs is no longer enough when it comes to standing out from the rest. This is especially true when it comes to electric trucks. There aren’t many on the market yet, and the Ram CEO believes he has the perfect method to make the new Ram Revolution shine.
Ram’s CEO made some bold comments about how his electric pickup truck will stand out
Ram has yet to launch its first EV, but all that is about to change. The American automaker known for its trucks is set to electrify its lineup with a rather simple but effective plan.
Ram CEO Mike Koval Jr. said Kelley’s Blue Book, “Trucks still need to do truck stuff.” He went on to add: “More and more truck buyers are open-minded to the idea of electrification in their trucks. But they are not willing to sacrifice our most important attributes that make a truck a truck, like towing, hauling and, in the future, range and load time.”
This is a good point, as many rivals focus on the electric motor and range. By remembering why so many consumers are drawn to trucks, Ram has already distinguished itself.
We don’t have any major details on how much the new Ram EV truck will be able to tow, or how it will perform off-road at this time, but Koval did have one more statement that will offer a clue.
“If you’re towing a 10,000-pound trailer behind your vehicle across the state or across the country, it’s stressful. We will exceed what others have announced with our most comprehensive portfolio of electrified solutions.”
Ram will soon prove himself on the sales floor
Words are great, but when it comes to the automotive world, sales are what counts. Ram hasn’t released its first electric pickup truck yet, but that will change soon.
Although a Ram electric pickup truck isn’t anywhere close to hitting the sales floor, it’s on its way. Ram has been releasing images of his concept truck, the Ram Revolution, and the internet has been awash with fans trying to figure out what it will look like based on little sneak peeks released by Ram.
This may turn out to be a good move, as everyone is eager to find out more. However, some may wonder if Ram has waited too long.
Is Ram late to the electric truck game?
Other automakers, like Ford, already have an electric pickup, so Ram is behind in some ways. Some may wonder if it’s too late for Ram to catch up, and the good news is that it’s never too late when it comes to the automotive world.
It’s constantly evolving and changing, so what’s on right now will soon be old news. With this in mind, Ram is taking the high road by keeping an eye on why people want a truck in the first place. Owning a pickup truck that is an electric vehicle is certainly a great selling point, but if it can’t function as a pickup truck, it’s going to stay on the lot.
In addition, there is the fact that Ram knows what others are doing and can act accordingly. This will help when planning and designing new trucks so that Ram can develop something newer and better.
Because of this, many will be drawn to the Ram electric pickup, as opposed to rivals who are more focused on the fact that they’re selling an EV. However, in the future, as more EVs hit the market, this will no longer be enough, which is why Ram may be at the forefront.
