It’s time to take another look at the Chevrolet Traverse. We know the Kia Telluride has been the top-ranked SUV for years, but there are plenty of other great options that are a bit out of the spotlight. Check out what the 2023 Chevy Traverse has in the 2023 Kia Telluride.
2023 Chevy Traverse vs. 2023 Kia Telluride
While the 2023 Chevy Traverse and 2023 Kia Telluride are great three-row family SUVs to consider, we think the Traverse might be getting overlooked. This is a little unfair because he has a lot of value to offer against Telluride.
It has a beefy engine, a smooth ride, responsive handling, tons of passenger space, plenty of passenger room, and intuitive technology.
You can start with a 2023 Traverse for around $34,520, and the top-spec High Country trim pushes the price up to $52,000. The 2023 Telluride starts at around $35,690 and the SX-P Pro tops out at $52,785.

With the 2023 Kia Telluride, you get a 3.8-liter V6 engine that makes 291 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. You can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 7.5 seconds. Plus, the Telluride can tow up to 5,500 pounds. But 500 pounds isn’t much of a difference.
The Traverse gets an EPA-estimated 18 mpg city and up to 27 mpg highway. The Telluride gets an EPA-estimated 20 mpg in the city and up to 26 mpg on the highway.
Both options have a peacefully quiet interior. But the Traverse rides smoother on the road, and the Telluride is a bit stiffer.
The Traverse has livelier acceleration, more responsive handling, and sure-footed braking. The Telluride can feel a bit heavy in the turns.
Both SUVs offer all-wheel drive, but the Traverse only has 7.5-inches of ground clearance. The Telluride sits 8.4 inches above the ground. The Traverse has off-road and snow/ice drive modes, while the Telluride has AWD lockup and a snow mode.

A standard 7.0-inch infotainment screen comes with the Traverse, and it can be upgraded to an 8.0-inch screen. The Telluride has a 12.3-inch screen. Both offer a wireless charging pad, a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, and a power liftgate.
But the Traverse has an optional power-folding third row, and the Telluride offers a head-up display.
The Telluride may have better interior quality and is the best option for off-roading. But the Traverse has a more engaging experience, a more comfortable ride, and more cargo space.
