Time praised the F-150 Lightning’s ability as much as its other electrical superpowers. It was praised for its ability to go 230 miles on a charge, in base trim, as well as towing up to 10,000 pounds. But Time also likes the Pro Power Onboard feature that can power a house or campsite with ease. But apparently Time actually praised Ford for making electric vehicles available to the masses for the first time.

There are 27 categories as diverse as food and drink for parents, toys and games, and of course, automotive. The F-150 shares its prize with wild inventions like bionic hands, paper batteries, a Space X rocket.

Electric car manufacturer Lucid was recognized for its Lucid Air sedan. Time likes that it can go 300 miles on a charge, but also take advantage of the 1,200 horsepower that helps this sedan hit 60 mph in about two seconds. BMW also received an award for its BMW iX Flow with E Ink. E Ink is a new bodywork from BMW that changes color at the push of a button using special electrophoretic technology.
Time also honored the new Gatik driverless truck for making self-driving deliveries, something we can all look forward to.
How much will the electric F-150 cost?
Pricing for the Ford F-150 Lightning starts at $51,974 for the Pro or Work Truck version. If you want to jump into a truck with some creature comforts, the XLT starts at $59,474. From there, the models extend to the super luxury Platinum at $96,874, which rivals a Lincoln Navigator in luxury. Of course, there’s an extended-range battery, but it’s an $11,500 option.

How long will it take to get an F-150 Lightning?
The F-150 Lighting is out of stock. Thus, order books opened and closed for the 2022 and 2023 F-150 Lightnings. Ford placed 200,000 reservations almost immediately after announcing the truck. Unfortunately, the company expected to build that number of trucks in 3 years at the time. The company has recognized record demand and appears to be ramping up production to meet high demand for one of the top inventions of 2022.
