Many of us are excited to see the new Ram Revolution electric pickup. But, we will have to wait a little longer. The Ram Revolution, as it’s called, is expected to compete with the new Silverado EV, Sierra EV and the wildly popular Ford F-150-lightning trucks. Ram’s CEO had said he wanted to reveal the truck at the Los Angeles Auto Show, but now that reveal has been called off.
New Ram EV Pickup Will Be Revealed In January
We’ll have to wait until January 5 at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Why CES? Well, it’s the next big show on the calendar. Plus, the new EV truck should be right at home among all the other electric goods at CES, like the newest gaming systems, TVs, phones, and PCs. The LA Auto Show starts in a few weeks.
Ram CEO Mike Koval Jr. said the new detroitWhile the company has promised to bring the Ram truck to the Los Angeles Auto Show, “it makes a lot of sense to reveal the vehicle at CES 2023.”
CES should be the first big show of 2024
This week, fans of the aftermarket and custom items are in Las Vegas for the Specialty Equipment Markets Association, or SEMA, show. This week, journalists and others are exploring the advantages of the secondary market at SEMA. Then, beginning November 18, manufacturers will bring their newest vehicles to the Los Angeles Auto Show. The Los Angeles show covers more than 1 million square feet of space and more than 100 manufacturers are expected to attend.
Ram is coy about the details of the new truck
Ram keeps teasing with promises for the RAM Revolution BEV Concept. In a new press release, the company didn’t share what we want to know, such as power, range, or trim levels. But Ram said the new truck “will redefine the truck segment,” as the company moves toward an all-electric future. Ram said it’s making range, towing, payload and charging time priorities for the new truck. Also, while he said the concept version will appear in January, he confirmed that the production version of the Ram 1500 BEV, or battery electric vehicle, will debut sometime in 2024.
Ram’s EV will have to compete with Ford and Chevy EV trucks
The 2024 Ram EV will have to compete with the new GMC Sierra EV, the Chevy Silverado EV and the Ford F-150 Lightning. We’re sure comparison tests will abound. Ram hasn’t released prices, but both the Silverado EV and Ford Lightning start in the mid-$40,000 range. The Sierra EV will arrive in 2024 and will initially start at around $107,000.
While we’re still waiting to see Chevy’s new EV pickup, there’s been a lot of talk about the 2024 GMC EV and Silverado EV’s four-wheel steering and its expected massive horsepower. Silverado gets fast-charging capability through Ultium Charge 360 fleet service and a 400-mile range so you can get to the job site. The five-seat pickup also has customizable front storage and easy-to-clean upholstery.
The Lightning can be ordered in a basic or Pro version for $46,974. The top-of-the-line Platinum version is $96,874. The Lightning’s range varies from 230 miles to 320 miles, depending on which battery pack you order. We won’t see the new Ram EV pickup until January
